Southside Eyecare & Optical has cared for Anchorage families for close to fifty years. The practice has grown over time, but the approach is the same: take the time to understand each patient, explain what we find, and get your vision right.
Southside Eyecare & Optical opened in 1976, on the south side of Anchorage. In 1985, Dr. Christie Stemmle joined the practice, bringing a love of specialty contact lenses that started in her family's lens-making business in Southern California. She still sees patients here today, including people referred from across Alaska for hard-to-fit lenses.
Dr. Jacquelyn Lamigo grew up in Anchorage as a patient of Southside Eyecare, and those visits sparked her interest in eye care. She earned her doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry, then came home to Anchorage to practice. Our current practice owner, she assumed responsibility from her mentor and childhood ophthalmologist, and she treats eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye.

We are at 9350 Independence Dr., Anchorage, AK 99507. We are open Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. We are closed on weekends.
