We are in network with Medicare, [Alaska Medicaid and Denali KidCare](/patients/medicaid), Premera Blue Cross, Federal BCBS, Moda Health, TriWest, and the VA Community Care Network. We also commonly bill many plans we are out of network with, including VSP, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. The lists below show where each plan falls. On Medicaid or Denali KidCare?

We accept Alaska Medicaid and Denali KidCare for eye exams and glasses, and we have for years. There is a separate page that walks through what is covered, what children get under Denali KidCare, and what to bring: [eye exams and glasses with Medicaid](/patients/medicaid). Call 907-561-1167 and we will check your coverage before you come in.

Insurance Questions

What is the difference between medical insurance and a vision plan?

Medical insurance can be used for part of an eye exam when there is a health problem, such as dry eye, an eye infection or injury, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, or blurry or double vision. We can also use your vision benefit for glasses and contact lenses. Bring both cards if you have both.

Do you bill my plan for me?

We bill our in-network plans, and we commonly bill many out-of-network plans as well, including VSP, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Davis Vision, Spectera, and EyeMed will not pay us as the provider, so for those we give you the self-submit paperwork to send in yourself. Call 907-561-1167 and we can tell you which applies to your plan.

How much will I pay if you are out of network with my plan?

It depends on your plan's out-of-network benefits, which vary from policy to policy. Call us before your visit with your plan information and we can check your benefits and tell you what to expect at checkout. Keep in mind that checking benefits is not a guarantee of payment, so there can still be a balance after your plan processes the claim.
