She earned a BS in Biological Sciences and Chemistry at San Jose State University, then her doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry, where she received the Founding Dean Scholarship.
Her clinical training covered a cataract surgical center in Florida, a Veterans hospital in New Jersey (glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy), a pediatric clinic in Colorado (strabismus, amblyopia, and vision therapy), and a Marine Corps-Naval Hospital in California (pre-LASIK exams and eye injuries).
She treats ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye, and is Alaska Board approved for laser procedures such as YAG capsulotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty. She is certified in Cynosure IPL for ocular rosacea and in iLux for dry eye, and is an active member of the Alaska and American Optometric Associations.
She has volunteered on eye care outreach trips to Peru and El Salvador. Outside the office she hikes with her family, oil paints, and snowboards with her children.
