When to Call Us Right Away

Some eye problems shouldn't wait for a routine appointment. Call 907-561-1167 as soon as you can if you have:

- A sudden change or loss of vision

- New flashes of light or a shower of floaters

- A curtain or shadow over part of your vision

- An eye injury, chemical splash, or something stuck in your eye

- A red, painful eye, especially if you wear contact lenses

For a chemical splash, rinse your eye with clean water right away, then call. If you have severe pain or a serious injury after hours, go to the nearest emergency room.

You don't need to know the name of your condition to book a visit. Tell our front desk what you're noticing, whether that's blurry vision, dry or itchy eyes, or something that just doesn't feel right, and we will schedule the right kind of appointment with Dr. Lamigo or Dr. Stemmle.

Can you see me the same day for an eye problem?

We offer same-day care for urgent eye problems like injuries, infections, and sudden vision changes. Call 907-561-1167 as early in the day as you can and tell us what's going on.

Is treatment for an eye condition covered by insurance?

Medical eye care, such as treatment for infections, dry eye, glaucoma, or diabetic eye disease, is usually billed to your medical insurance rather than your vision plan. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and many medical plans, and our front desk can check your coverage before your visit.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring your glasses or contact lenses, a list of your medications, and your insurance cards. If your eyes may be dilated, sunglasses help on the way home.
